Temp mail for Roblox

A Roblox account is created from a username, a password and a birthday, with no email address anywhere in the flow. The address becomes relevant afterwards, when you want the verified-email badge that some experiences and trading features check for.

How to sign up

  1. Create the Roblox account first; the sign-up form does not ask for an address.
  2. Generate an inbox here, then open Settings and Account Info in Roblox.
  3. Add the address and send the verification mail.
  4. Click the link in the message that arrives in this inbox to earn the verified badge.

What it costs you

Trade-offRoblox uses the address on file for password resets and for the parental controls on accounts under 13. Once a temporary inbox expires, an under-13 account can no longer have its settings changed, and no account can be recovered.

Questions

Does Roblox need an email address to create an account?

No. Username, password and date of birth are the only required fields. An address is optional and is used for verification, password recovery and the parental controls on younger accounts.

What does the verified email badge unlock?

It removes some restrictions on trading and on joining certain experiences, and it is a prerequisite for recovering the account. A number of community groups also check for it before accepting members.

Is a temporary address a good idea for a child account?

No. Parental controls on an account registered as under 13 are changed by confirming a link sent to the address on file, so an expired inbox freezes those settings permanently. Use an address a parent controls.

What does Roblox email to this inbox?

The verification link, then password resets, login alerts and the notices Roblox sends about trades and purchases. If a parent PIN is set, the reset for that also arrives here, which is a reason not to use a throwaway address on a child’s account.

Can I trade or use Robux on an account like this?

Buying Robux works, trading does not until the account is old enough and the email is verified. Because a temporary address stops accepting mail, an account created this way tends to stall exactly at the point where trading unlocks.

Can I change the email on a Roblox account later?

Yes, from Settings → Account Info, and Roblox asks for the password and confirms through the new address. The old address does not have to be reachable, which makes Roblox one of the easier services to move off a temporary inbox.

Does Roblox block temp mail domains?

It accepts most of them at signup. The stricter check is age: an account registered as under thirteen has chat and trading restrictions that no email address changes, so the domain is rarely what stops you.
