Trade-offFacebook locks a large share of new accounts within days and asks for a phone number or a photo of an ID to unlock them. The address you registered with does not decide whether that happens, but it does decide whether you can respond, and an expired inbox means the account is gone.

Does Facebook accept temporary email addresses?
Registration with a DustMail address generally goes through. Facebook does not publish a blocklist, and the check that ends most throwaway accounts is the identity challenge that comes later, not the domain you signed up with.
Why was my new Facebook account disabled straight away?
Facebook flags accounts on signals such as the network you connect from, how fast you send friend requests, and whether the profile looks automated. It is a behavioural check; changing email provider does not affect it in either direction.
What is a temporary Facebook address actually good for?
Reading a public page or a Marketplace listing that demands a login, or keeping a group signup out of your real inbox. Anything you want to still own next month needs a permanent address and, realistically, a phone number.
What does Facebook send to this inbox?
The confirmation code, then login alerts, password resets and security warnings about unrecognised devices. Facebook is one of the heaviest senders on this list, and everything it sends is the kind of notice you would want to still be able to read.
Can I add a real email to the account later?
Yes, under Settings → Personal details → Contact info, and Facebook confirms the new address before making it primary. Add it early: an account that gets checkpointed can only be recovered through a contact method already on file.
Why does Facebook ask for ID on a new account?
Its automated review flags accounts that look newly created and lightly used, and identity verification is the standard remedy. A temporary address does not cause the flag, but it removes the easier recovery path once the flag lands.
Can one inbox register two Facebook profiles?
No. Facebook enforces one profile per person and one email per profile, and reusing an address is refused. Running multiple profiles is against its terms regardless of which mailbox you register from.
