How to sign up
- Generate an inbox here and copy the address before you start the sign-up.
- On the Instagram sign-up screen choose the email option rather than the phone option.
- Paste the address, then read the six-digit confirmation code from the message that appears in this inbox.
- Type the code back into Instagram and finish choosing a username.
What it costs you
Trade-offInstagram frequently asks new accounts for a phone number a few days later, especially if the account follows many people quickly. A temporary email will not get you past that check, and there is no way to skip it once it appears.

Why did Instagram ask for my phone number anyway?
Instagram applies a separate anti-spam check that is triggered by behaviour rather than by the address you registered with. Once it fires, the only way through is a real number; a temporary email address makes no difference to it either way.
How long does the Instagram code take to arrive?
Usually under a minute. If nothing shows up after two minutes, ask Instagram to resend rather than generating a new inbox, because the second code is sent to the address you originally typed in.
Can I change the address on the account later?
Yes, and you should if you intend to keep the account. Instagram lets you swap the email address in Settings, and it sends a confirmation to the new address, so do it while the temporary inbox is still open.
What does Instagram send to this inbox after signup?
The six-digit confirmation code first, then login alerts from unrecognised devices, password reset links, and the occasional suggestion digest. If you enable two-factor by email later, those codes land here as well, which is the reason to pick a longer duration.
Does Instagram block temp mail domains?
Instagram does not maintain an aggressive public blocklist, but it does throttle registrations that look automated. If an address is refused, generate a new inbox rather than retrying the same one, and slow down between attempts from the same connection.
Will the account survive after the inbox expires?
The profile keeps working as long as you stay logged in. What you lose is recovery: a forgotten password or a login challenge from a new phone both route to an address that no longer exists, and Instagram support will not move the account without it.
Can I run two Instagram accounts from one temporary inbox?
No. Instagram binds one address to one account, so the second signup is refused at the email step. Generate a separate inbox for each profile, which also keeps the accounts from being linked to each other through a shared address.
