Does Nintendo accept temporary email addresses?
Nintendo currently delivers the verification code to DustMail domains without complaint. A handful of widely-abused throwaway domains are rejected at the form, in which case a fresh inbox on another DustMail domain goes through normally.
Can I link this account to my Switch safely?
Linking works, but think first: unlinking a Nintendo Account from a console has restrictions, and any eShop credit or purchases on the account stay with the account. A temp-mail account linked to your main console is a knot you may not be able to untie cleanly.
What about parental controls and family groups?
Family group invitations and parental control alerts are sent by email, so they stop working the moment the inbox expires. If you manage a family group, that account needs a permanent address; the temporary one belongs on the throwaway end of the family, not the admin end.
What does Nintendo email to this address?

Can I change the Nintendo Account email later?
Yes, from the Nintendo Account settings page, confirmed with a code sent to the new address. Child accounts are managed by the parent account instead and cannot be moved independently.
Will my eShop purchases survive if the inbox expires?
They stay tied to the account, and the account keeps working on a console you are already signed in to. A new console, however, needs a sign-in that Nintendo may verify by email, and that is where an expired inbox stops you.
Is a temporary address suitable for a Switch I actually own?
No. The console binds purchases and save data to the account, and Nintendo support restores accounts through the registered email. Use a temporary address for a demo download or a region-store look, not for the console you play on.
