Editorial Policy
Effective date: August 23, 2026
1. Team authorship
DustMail articles are written and reviewed by the DustMail Editorial Team. We use a team byline instead of inventing personal authors or credentials.
2. Source selection
We prioritize primary and authoritative sources, including standards bodies, government security guidance, official product documentation, and first-party service documentation. Sources are selected for their relevance to the claims in each article.
3. Factual review
We review factual statements against the cited sources and qualify claims where privacy, security, service terms, or local law can vary. Each article displays its publication date and most recent factual review date.
4. Translations
Translated articles are intended to preserve the meaning and limitations of the English article. When a material factual correction is made, we update affected translations so they do not retain contradictory claims.
5. Corrections
To report an error or request a correction, email [email protected]. We assess the evidence, correct material errors, and update the last-reviewed date when a factual review changes the article.
6. Commercial independence
DustMail does not accept payment for favorable coverage or paid ranking in its editorial articles. References to DustMail products are identified by name and do not replace independent sources where those sources are available.
7. Scope and limitations
Our articles provide general educational information, not legal, financial, or security guarantees. Temporary email can reduce exposure of a primary email address, but it does not hide network, browser, device, payment, or other account metadata. Readers should check applicable law and each service’s terms for their situation.
